This was taken at Schoenbrunn, OH, two summers ago.

Few Facts about myself:
Fact 1: I'm 53 - keeping current with technology trends keeps me young though!
Fact 2: 30 years in public education, same school, rural area, 12 mi from home
Fact 3: 3 children (18, 19, 20). a dog (age 1) and a cat (age .5)
Fact 4: 28 years in the same 115-year old stone block home.
What I'd like to learn or get out of this course:
Technology trends change so quickly, I hope to keep abreast of any resources or applications that I haven't used in the classroom.
Sharing with colleagues is very satisfying at the graduate level because we all come to the class with experience, tips, tricks, strategies, and ideas that energize me!
Online facilitators have personality! I hope to emulate many of them once I start teaching online
When friends or peers find out I'm learning online, they can't comprehend how that works. But I find that communicating via web resources is a social learning situation very satisfying. It suits my need for independence yet fills the need for connecting.
Educating the Net Generation is a fairly hot topic and I look forward to studying in depth ways to develop strategies to engage today's learners. I find that educators are aware of the need to change how to engage these strange animals (!) and yet powerless to really make global change. Small changes in the classroom can occur, but it's frustrating when the entire institution is stuck in its archaic structure.
My favorite game(s):
Computer - spider, fowl words, collapse, Just Dance, scrabble
Board - Pictionary, Uno, Hugger-Mugger (the most recent favorite)
